Stay Under the Radar With DJI's Stealthy Mavic Pro Platinum

Announced on Thursday at IFA 2022 in Berlin, the $one,099 Mavic Pro Platinum's propellers brand it 60 percent quieter than the $999 Mavic Pro, DJI said. It can also fly for up to 30 minutes, 11 per centum longer than its predecessor. The upgraded drone gets its moniker for its new "sleek platinum end."

Designed for travelers, amateur photographers, and outdoor sports enthusiasts, the Mavic Pro Platinum besides features a 4K photographic camera, 4.3-mile range, FlightAutonomy technology that tin sense obstacles up to 49 feet away, and a "range of intelligent flight modes that make it extremely fun and piece of cake to fly," DJI said.

DJI also today unveiled a new version of its Phantom iv Pro drone with a "sleek matte-gray Obsidian colour crush" that won't bear witness fingerprints and a new "Sphere" mode for its Spark drone. Sphere mode will allow you "hands produce a panoramic photo with a fisheye lens effect," the company said. DJI plans to include this feature in upcoming app and firmware updates.

DJI Senior Product Managing director Paul Pan said these new products aim to "meet the different lifestyles and needs of consumers."

The original DJI Mavic Pro earned an "excellent" rating in PCMag's review; we said it'southward "much more than capable than yous'd expect given its size" and called it an "excellent choice for pilots looking for a more portable drone." The Spark, meanwhile, earned a "practiced" rating; we liked its gesture controls but said it's "hampered past short flight time and an app that could exist easier to use."
